RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR DUAL DEMOLITION DERBY
The following rules & regulations set forth herein are designed to provide for the orderly conduct of Auto Race Promotions demolition
derby to establish minimum acceptable requirements for such events. These rules shall govern the condition of all events, and by participating in these events, all participants are deemed to have complied with these rules. No express or implied warranty of safety shall result from publication of or compliance with these rules and regulations. They are intended as a guide for the conduct of the sport and are in no way a guarantee against injury or death to participant, spectator, or official.
 
The Auto Race Promotions Inc official shall be empowered to permit minor deviation from any of the specifications herein or impose any restrictions that in their opinion do not alter the safety factor. Any interpretation or deviation of these rules is left to the discretion of Auto Race Promotions Inc officials and their decision is final. Auto Race Promotions Inc reserves the right to approve or reject all entries.
A.  PARTICIPANT ENTRIES
1.  An entry fee will be charged for each car.
2.  All persons MUST sign entry form, insurance waiver and release form and purchase pit pass before entering pit area. PLEASE
     TAKE TIME TO READ!
3.  No ine is allowed in race area under the influence of liquor. POSSESSION OF ALCOHOL IN THE PIT AREA WILL RESULT IN
     LOSS OF PIT PASS AND EXPULSION FROM THE PITS.
4.  First three heat races will be filles firat, then 4th and 5th as needed.
5.  All drivers/riders MUST be 16 years or older. Participants 16 & 17 years old MUST have a PARENT present to sign a minor release
     form. MUST be 14 years or older to enter the pit area and 14 & 15 years olds MUST have a parent/guardian sign a minor
     release form.  NO EXCEPTIONS!
B.  AUTOMOBILE BODY REGULATIONS FOR DUAL DERBY & MINI CAR CLASSESCl
1.   Passenger cars, station wagons, or convertibles (convertibles MUST have box type roll cage). No trucks, jeeps, hearses, or
     limosines. No Pintos or Pacers allowed. GM cars must be 1978 or newer. FORD, CHRYSLER, and any FRONT WHEEL DRIVE
     cars MUST be 1980 or newer. Full size foreign cars must be 1980 or newer. If dashboard is removed VIN # plate MUST REMAIN
     Cars competing in Mini Car class MUST be 1980 or newer, engine MUST be 6 cylinder or smaller, and 107 inch or less wheelbase;
     NO MODIFING OF WHEEL BASE. Cars previously run in a demolition derby may install new front clip. Any clip in specified year
     may be used on any car, MUST be installed is stock manner. Length of angle iron MUST be no larger than 2 inches to secure
     fender to hood. Installation MUST be approved by ARPI official.
2.  Car number will be exhibited on both front doors and on an upright number plate on the roof of car; minimum of 18"x18". Car
     numbers are registered on a first come first serve basis. NO pre-registered numbers are allowed. NO PROFANITY will be allowed.
3.   All glass, headlights,taillights, and side marker lights MUST be removed. Windshields may remain, but if removed driver MUST
     wearapproved eye protection. All cars MUST have approved seat belts.
4.  All rear seats MUST be removed. All cars MUST be swept clean, both drivers compartment and truck. No spare tires, broken glass
     or trash etc. On sedans, deck lid must remain in stock upright position. Deck lid and quarter panels may be cut or pre-bent in any
     manner. Station wagon roof may be cut or pre-bent but cannot be bolted to the floor. NO SEDANGONS!
5.  Battery may be moved, but MUST be securely fastened and covered. ONLY ONE AUTOMOBILE TYPE BATTERY ALLOWED.
6.  Any type automotive radiator may be used but MUST be mounted in stock position. At drivers option he may compete without
     radiator, but MUST run on water in block only. NO RESERVE TANKS.
7.  All cars must have either a bar, wire, chain, etc running from roof to dashboard to protect driver/rider. All doors may be welded and
     reinforced. All external body and internal cage reinforcing must be designed for protection of driver/rider. External body reinforcing
     zone will run from 6 inches in front of door to rear axle center line. All internal cages wil be limited to a specific area. They may be
     installed from base or front windshield to 18 inches behind front seat. Internal cage supports (down tubes) MUST be welded to flat
     part of frame rail. NO welding to or on frame arches front or rear. The front down tubes MUST stay a mimimum of 6 inches behind
     Z box on Fords and Chryslers and 6 inches behind front arches on GMs.
8.  Stock gas tank MUST be removed from original position and mounted in rear seat area and secured by existing seat belts or added
     metal straps. NO CHAINS OR RUBBER or round bottom tanks. A metal marine (boat) tank is recommended. All tanks MUST have
     secure cap. All lines and fittings MUST be leak proof and recommended lines run in the interior of car; all to meet approval of ARPI
     officials. NO MORE THAN 3 GALLONS OF GAS IN TANK.
9.  Any OEM shock canister may be bolted or welded on any car. Amounts of bolts or welds may not exceed typical stock installation.
     For safety purposes shock tubes on shock bumpers may be lightly welded. Any OEM stock automobile bumper may be bolted and
     welded to the shock canister or stock bumper brackets, you may use a piece of chain from the all thread on the hood and/or deck
     lid down to the bumper. If you choose ends may be trimmed to allow for wheel clearance.
10. Hoods MUST have two holes at least 4" in diameter on each side of carburetor. IF HOOD IS REMOVED, EITHER FAN BLADE
     MUST BE REMOVED OR FAN BELT MUST BE CUT.
11. Hoods, trunks, and tailgates may be secured with the following method: on front of car two pieces of 3/4" all thread with a washer
     no larger than 6 inches and 1/4" thick MUST be mounted outboard the radiator. An additional four 3/4" all thread may be used or
     four pieces of wire or cable. On rear of car a total of six 3/4" all thread may be used anywhere on trunk lid or tailgate. All washers
     MUST be flat. All threads may be mounted through a stock body mount and replace existing bolt. All other body mount bolts may
     be replaced but be replaced with OEM stock size bolt and washer. If rubber biscuits are removed MUST be replaced with 1-1/2"
     steel spacer, round tubing, square tubing, washers, etc. Frame seams must be visible. All threads MUST have a nut on top and
     bottom and NO welds. ALL THREADS AND WASHERS MAY NOT BLOCK BORE-SCOPE ACCESS TO THE FRAME.
12. ALL FRAMES MUST REMAIN IN OEM STOCK. NO REWELDING OF THE FRAME SEAMS OR PLATING THE ARCHES. ANY
     DRIVER CAUGHT WITH ALTERED FRAME AT POST RACE INSPECTION WILL BE SUSPENDED FROM COMPETITION FOR
     ONE CALENDAR YEAR.
13. Suspension MUST remain STRICKLY STOCK. Suspension and steering components MUST be made up of stock OEM parts. (real
     car parts only; no pipe, no angle iron). Cars must set dead level, no more than14" of ground clearance in the middle of the car. Cars
     originally equipped with rear leaf springs will not be allowed more than eight leaves in the stack. Stiffness of the suspension will be
     left to the discretion of the driver. MINI CAR ONLY: struts may be reinforced with 8" flat steel, pipe, or angle iron. One piece on
     each strut.
14. Trailer hitches, class A or frame mounted, MUST be totally removed. Classs B bumper mounted trailer ball stub MUST be totally
      removed.
15. Back window bar may be installed. No more than 4 inch channel may be used from roll over bar to speaker deck; EXTERIOR
     ONLY. A plate no bigger than 6"x6"x1/4" may be used from channel to speaker deck in front of drip rail.
C.  ENGINE, TRANSMISSION, REAR END REGULATIONS
1.  Any engine transmission may be used in any car, but MUST be mounted in a stock position. On a V-block motor, front spark plug
     MUST be even or in front of upper ball joint; on in-line motors, number two (2) spark plug MUST be even or in front of upper ball joint.
2.  Engine cooling system MUST be drained and flushed free of antifreeze. Air conditioner Freon R-12 MUST be properly evacuated
     from system. This work must be accomplished BEFORE arrival at race site.
3.  Chained, welded, or homemade motor mounts will be permitted, but MUST meet approval of ARPI officials.
4.  Any type header is allowed, but MUST be directed away from driver compartment.
5.  Transmission oil coolers are permitted. Mountings, lines, and fittings MUST be approved by ARPI inspection personnel.
6.  Any automobile rear end (NO TRUCK OR FLOATER REAR ENDS) can be used in any car. This rule does not mean you can
     transform a coil to leaf spring or vice versa. On models originally equipped with leaf springs, stock leaf springs and hangers must be
     used. On models originally equipped with coil springs, stock springs and trailing arms MUST be used. Homemade spring perches
     or homemade trailing arm brakcets may be welded to rear end. An OEM trailing arm must be altered or reinforced in any manner.
     All installations MUST be approved by ARPI official.
7.  Any drive shaft or U joint may be used. Welding of drive shafts is permitted.
8.  Two loops of chain or wire over the cross member and around rear end is permitted. Up to 4 inch C-channel may be used when
     mounting. Added metal can be no longer than 6 inches. No pipe or angle iron may be added. Chain or cable may be installed
     cross ways between rear frame rails behind rear end. Homemade cross member may be used but no larger than 4 inch channel
     iron. Added cross member brackets can be no larger than 2"x2" angle; no longer than 6 inches.
9.  All cars equipped with an electric fuel pump MUST have some type of shut off switch easily accessible to driver/rider. MUST meet
     approval of ARPI official.
10 All cars MUST have a minimum of two wheels with working brakes.
11 Distributor protector with loop bar (halo) may be used. Front loop may not extend past water pump. Rear of protector MUST not
     come in contact with ANYTHING that will keep the car from bending. Installation MUST meet approval of ARPI official.
D.  TIRES
1.  Only 16"or smaller tires and wheels will be allowed. NO SPLIT RIMS ALLOWED.
2.  Forklift and skid loader tires are permitted. NO paddle, pulling, or cut tires.
3.  All wheels and rims MUST be strictly stock. Valve stem protectors are okay. No other welding or reinforcing allowed.
4.  Liquid in tires is permitted. Studs or screws in rims to hold tires in place is permitted.
E.  RACING REGULATIONS
1.  All drivers MUST wear approved helmets, long pants, and shirt.
2.  Entries limited to one driver/rider per class of car per show.
3.  Qualified drivers may change cars for the Feature Event providing the car changed to has run in a prior heat at this derby.
4.  A drivers meeting will be held by the Director of Competition preceding each derby.
5.  Inspection will close one half hour before posted show time.
6.  All cars MUST be removed from derby site by 12:00 noon the following day unless otherwise stated at the drivers meeting. Failure
    to do so will result in cars being removed by and becoming property of local salvage operator.
7.  All derby cars will be allowed NO MORE than two times through tech line. ONLY driver will be allowed in tech area.
F.  PROTEST RULE
1.  Only a DRIVER competing in feature can protest a car.
2.  Protest must be made within 5 minutes of the checkered flag.
3.  Driver must present $100 cash and state a specific protest on protested car to the head flagman or Director of Competition.

A.  AUTOMOBILE BODY REGULATIONS
1.   Passenger cars only; CHEVY 1978 or newer: FORD and CHRYSLER 1980 or newer. No trucks, jeeps, wagons, or limousines.
2.  A 18" x 18" number plate attached to roof. Number to be approved at time of registration.
3.  All glass, windows, lights MUST be removed before reaching track. Windshields may remain.
4.  Rear seat, head liner, carpet, etc MUST be removed. Cars must be swept clean.
5.  VIN # plate MUST REMAIN.
6.  Battery MUST be moved from stock position and securely mounted in front floorboard.
7.  Original gas tank MUST be removed and securely mount a tank in rear floorboard. A marine boat tank is recommended.
8.  Any type auto radiator may be used but must be mounted in stock position. No reserve tanks.
9.  Electric fuel pumps MUST have shut off the driver/rider can easily reach.
10. Bar, wire, chain, etc in the windshield from roof to dashboard to protect driver/rider.
11. Hoods MUST have two holes at least 4" in diameter on each side of the carburetor.
12. Secure hoods and trunks with either wire or chain. Six pieces on hood and four pieces on trunk. (after inspection)
13. Secure doors with either wire or chain. NO WELDING.
14. Original body mounts only; only in stock position. Biscuit MUST REMAIN.
15. Stock bumpers only. Secure with chain. NO WELDING.
16. Stock suspension.
17. Stock steering. No aftermarket steering.
18. Stock transmission. No transmission coolers.
19. Floating cages only. No down tubes.
20. No larger than 16" tires and wheels. No reinforcing of the wheels. Forklift tires are allowed.
21. NO WELDING ON FRAME!
22. May use exterior protection on driver and passenger doors; MUST not extend past 6 inches in front and 6 inches rear of door.
     BOLTED ON ONLY.
B.  ENGINE
1.  CHEVY car - CHEVY motor; FORD car - FORD motor; CHRYSLER car - CHRYSLER motor etc. All motors MUST remain
     stock; no upgrades. Cars MUST run factory engine.
2.  Headers are allowed.
3.  No changing rear ends. Must run OEM rear end. No changing gear ratio.
4.  No PTO drive shafts.

WE HAVE ADDED A PURE STOCK CLASS TO MOST OF THE 2011 SCHEDULE. WE WILL RUN IT LIKE THE MINI CAR CLASS - ONE HEAT - 100% PAYBACK.
